Little is known about Ed Bailey. He was a gambler. While playing cards with Doc Holiday, he kept sifting through the discards which was completely illegal. Doc Holiday warned him repeatedly, but Ed ignored him. During the next hand, as Ed sifted through the discards, Doc raked in the pot without showing his hand, which was according to the rules. Ed Bailey went for his gun, but before he could fire, Doc Holiday had stabbed him to death. Bailey died without ever pulling the trigger.
